Hownold was your child when you felt comfortable showering while they were awake and alone

Obviously, this is a 1 child scenario, so if you have multiple, pick based on your youngest or when the oldest could take care of the youngest.

i have the baby in the bathroom w me he’s almost always awake he j lays in a bounded/rocker

I have three tots and I usually wait until another adult is in the house with me before I shower or they’d need to all be napping . & even then it feels odd to me. But if I were pressed I just bring my son in to shower with me he’s 3 or I would have him in the bathroom with me focused on brushing his teeth / playing with the water in the sink etc while my other two 1 year old twins are in their cribs in our room - that is attached to our bathroom, being entertained by the television and possibly toys. So to answer the question I haven’t really gotten to that point yet but I’m thinking that it may occur at 4 with my son and if not 5 maybe 🤷🏾‍♀️

I have an en-suite in my bedroom and I have a next to me crib attached to my bed. As of recent my son sleeps in my bed so his crib has become a play pen for him lol. I can leave him sat in his crib with his toys and he stands and holds on to the bed whilst watching miss Rachel and I have a shower with the door open and he’s fine usually

My kids are 4, 3 and 2 and I still can’t do that with any of them. They are not to be trusted LOL

I have a 2 - and 3 year old in a one bedroom. I just leave the door open and let them come in out while I shower. I leave a show on and close the bedroom door. My front door has a door alarm so if it opens I hear a beep. Everything else is child proofed.

Don’t remember exactly. Pretty young though. I have glass shower doors. I would just put them on a play mat or a bouncer right outside the door and I could see them.

My daughter is 2, will be 3 in a couple of months, and I could shower with her awake and alone. I think it depends on the child. If I am in the restroom and she’s alone in another room or if I’m doing a chore that I can’t easily walk away from (like scrubbing the tub), I can call her name and say “you good?” And she says “yes I’m good mommy!” Or she’ll walk to me and check in. When she was young I would use a bouncer in the bathroom if I was alone with her and needed to shower. I always lock the doors when her and I are in the house alone and make sure her environment is safe if I won’t be right next to her for a short period of time. She’s very independent and a rule follower, so it works for us.

@aria ❄️ same here! I shower when I can, either asleep or awake in a good mood giving me enough time to shower lol. She is a month old.

I have an en-suite so that’s the only reason. Before I had one I did not. But I put a show on and shower while he sits on my bed.

Done it since new born x

My son wasn't 4 years old tell I started showering alone while he was awake

My son is 3 and I’ll shower with the door open while he plays in the next room. It’s not a long or relaxing shower and he’s usually in the bathroom with me bc privacy is not a thing in our house lol

2, since he can open and shut door i put something over the top of the doors so he can’t shut himself in somewhere, I’d lock the deadbolt on the front door because I know he can’t undo that, and I kept the bathroom door open

I would usually wait until my husband gets in but on the occasion when he’s been away or back really late I’ll have a quick shower. I have 2 kids, 2yrs and 1yr. I make sure that my 2 year old can come and find me, for example leaving all the doors open etc. and I make sure my 1yr old is in his cot and secure. Usually a shower like this would only take me about 5-7 minutes so it’s really not a big deal! I’m always ready to get out dripping to see them if I can hear them cry.

I've only started in the last year because my daughter is trouble! She's 6 and even the other day I went to quickly shower and she got paint all over the house

Started from pretty young few weeks old I’d say would usually put her in her swing chair in the hallway so I could see her. Now she tends to sit in her high chair with ms Rachel on 😅

i bring my son in with me he sits in his chair and kicks around

I used to set my 2.5 year old daughter up either on my bed or downstairs on the sofa with a bowl of snacks, juice bottle and a film on the tv and she was fine. She’s 3 now and I got a shower yesterday with her laid in bed watching tv and my 3 month old baby in his next to me

My little girl is now 3, but I've been able to shower alone since she was around 1, she'll just play in her room, dance to her tonies or read her books, if she needs me she shouts or comes into the bathroom. Before that I would put her in her bouncer whilst I got ready
