Suspected CMPA/ silent reflux struggling…

Baby boy is 5 months old & he is still in so much pain and unsettled constantly after feeds. On neocate hydrolysed milk from peads but I just don’t know whether he has a milk allergy or whether is was colic/reflux.. thinking of asking for different brand of hydrolysed milk or going onto goats milk.. any advice appreciated

Have you done the milk challenge? I was convinced it was something else when he was still in pain on pepti but one bottle with kendamil and we were 100% sure. I felt awful but at least we knew. I’ve heard that some babies don’t to well on neocate if they have a coconut allergy, a different AA formula may be better for your little one. It can take a little while for the milk to leave the system - some people say 6 weeks but my paediatrician said two weeks should see a significant improvement enough to know if it’s working

He’s been on it since he was around 2 months old. Started on pepti 1 then put on the neocate & gavsxon. Also pescribed omeprazole but he was worse with this so stopped it. At my wits end and poor baby is in agony after a feed

Oh gosh it’s definitely not working for home then. Have you spoken with peads? Did any of his symptoms get better? It could be that he’s unsettled due to reflux or is he constipated? Feel free to message me. It’s a difficult journey with a huge mental load so if you want to chat through with someone I’m here x

Ye his skin got better but don’t know if that was just baby acne.. so hard to tell if it’s CMPA but I’m too scared to try him on normal milk. So believe he has reflux as I gave him fruit puree without thinking (had the go ahead from peads to wean early) and he screamed for 2 hours straight because of the acidity of the fruit! Got a peads appointment today so going to see if I can try a different brand of milk. Thank you ♥️
