We use YouTube if I nearby, otherwise it cbeebies, Disney, netflix She's loving cars at the moment, bluey, hey duggee, colour blocks, blippi 🥴
We were moving house a few months ago and so we can unpack in peace our daughter ended up watching more tv that we would normally let her (Netflix) she came across paw patrol and now she is properly hooked. It isn’t necessary a bad tv show but because it’s adventure I think she finds it very exciting and she’s obsessed to the point that everything has to be negotiated with her listening to the audio book or watching an episode. ( a slippery slope i know!) So if you can avoid showing your child this series, I would. I’m deeply regretting it already 😖
We don’t use YouTube except for songs in the background on my phone, we use Netflix/iplayer without ads I prefer non stimulating shows like the older fireman Sam/bob the builder type ones that I’d watch when I was younger. We do not have a tablet and don’t plan on having one for a while, we supervise the tv 99% of the time.
@Maria my son also discovered paw patrol and now completely obsessed… wish he’d never found it as well! Can’t stand the music I think I’ll remember the song for the rest of my life 🙈
On telly we almost only do CBeebies programmes, makes it easy. Maybe some Disney films too. Number/Alpha/Colour Blocks, Sarah & Duck, Pip & Posy (learn on Sky), Peter Rabbit (I hate she loves) etc. On the tab I download things I find acceptable to watch offline. My cousins kids came across a video of a snake down the loo on YouTube unsupervised and they held number 2s for a week as they were scared and it took them ages to figure out why 😵💫 Definitely would never let her on YouTube, ever. Basically anything from CBeebies or Bluey (sod Peppa Pig 😅) is acceptable in our house. Although to be honest she only ever uses the tab whilst travelling or in a restaurant anyway.
