I mean he shouldn't be in work by the sounds of it because even though you're pregnant surely even others not pregnant won't feel comfortable.. I wouldn't 😩🤔
@Lucy this is what I thought, another one of the girls said she wasn’t comfortable and she isn’t pregnant but also made a good point that any of the other girls could be pregnant for all we know and they just haven’t announced it yet ! The majority of our workforce is female, we only have 3 guys
@Alina I’m not sure what he is taking it for he didn’t go into that and I obviously didn’t want to ask. I’m going to get advice from my midwife at my appointment tomorrow and after that I’m going to speak to management with my concerns and see what they say. It’s literally so close to me leaving 😫
When I googled it the two main reasons for having this is either hyperthyroidism or cancer. I’m obviously hoping it’s not cancer for his sake but I’m just really worried for my baby 😭
I’d be talking to your midwife and also HR/your work manager because I wouldn’t feel comfortable either! You need to be able to access the staff room facilities at work, they can’t just stop you as you’d lose access to the fridge/hot water/microwave etc. they need to come up with something that works for both you and your colleague!
@Deanna yeah I never thought of that not being able to access the facilities in the staff room ! Il definitely speak to them about it
Definitely think he should be off work and you should insist. It's not for you to behave differently cus of his treatment. As has been said could affect others that don't even know they're pregnant. Even people in the supermarket he's being served by etc. It's his duty of care to protect you all and negligence otherwise.
Id talk to a health care professional like your midwife for a clearer idea about this. Id be like you and not feeling comfortable!
