Low laying placenta

Hey everyone I am 23 weeks tomorrow and a scan yesterday shows my placenta is still very low. Touching but not covering my cervix. Im not opposed to having a c section, whatever gets our baby out safely! But I'd like to know if anyone has experiance of this and if so, did yours move (and when) so you could have a vaginal birth? Thank you x

Hey, I was told 3 weeks ago that I was in this position and had a scan yesterday and it had moved and was now in a good position. I'm 24 weeks tomorrow so not sure if it could move again, I suspect so but a positive to focus on that it has moved once already. 🤞 yours will move.. still have time 💕

@Lauren thanks for the positive reply! Pleased to hear yours has moved x

I have a close friend whose placenta was very low lying at the 20 week scan and had moved up out of the way by 32 weeks. 🤞 For you!

@Julie thank you!

I have a low lying placenta and hoping it moves by my 32 week check up, fingers crossed for you!

Did they give you the info sheet? 9 out of 10 times it moves out the way (although it’s not technically the placenta moving, just the uterus getting bigger so it pulls it up) so 9 out of 10 is good odds for a vaginal birth for you 😄

@lindsey that's good to know thank you, they didn't give me a sheet. Fingers crossed for yours also!

I had this during my first pregnancy, it had moved fully by my 32 week scan 😊

I have this but having to wait until 32 weeks for another scan to confirm if it’s moved. Not sure if it’s linked but I had a lot of aches and pains/period-like cramping this morning that kind of felt like things moving and stretching! 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Sam that's good to know! Will stop me from worrying too much if I have more period aches. Fingers crossed yours has moved on the next scan 😊

@Bec amazing, thank you!
