Beer/wine at first birthday

Hey so my husband and I are hosting a first bday party this weekend for our child at a public space that I believe allows alcohol and we just assumed we’d have some beer and wine available for guests, it’s a 3 hour in the afternoon but anyways now we’re wondering if it’s weird to have beer and wine at a first bday party, please weigh in on what is socially normal/acceptable. If I was hosting at my home I’d have it so I don’t see why this would be different but again is this weird or inappropriate I guess I assumed if I had it at my baby shower and that was ok why would this not have it but again let me know your thoughts or for you have done this.

Me personally it’s something that we always grew up with and around. My daughter’s birthday was on the 3rd and we had beer, wine, and other alcohol but no one got drunk. It really depends on the crowd and how people handle their drinks.

In my husband’s family it’s both normal and the expectation. I’d say alcohol has been available at 99% of children’s birthday parties I’ve been to.

We’ll have it, we don’t see nothing wrong with it. It will be close family and we know no one will get drunk.

We had mimosas and I made a Christmas margarita. Also a designated NA cooler and beer cooler hahah it was awesome! Our was SUPPOSED to be four hours but it turned into an all day thing. No body got drunk, everyone just had a great time ❤️
