Blood in poo - TMI

So my daughter just done a poo and I think she’s a bit constipated she was struggling to get the poo out, when I changed her nappy it was like a few rabbit dropping looking poo and one big hard ball Do you think I should be worrying or chances are it’s from that poo or I should be getting seen? I have tried to check her bum and the area does look sore Has anyone else had the same before?

Sounds like she's constipated. Keep a eye, offer lots of water, fibre and fruit and veg. X

Was it bright red blood or very dark?

@CeeCee bright red

@Amy thats a positive (if you know what I mean) as its likely its from broken skin from her wee bum rather than being something internal, would make sense with all the other symptoms she is having of constipation. As above, extra water should help and plenty of pear, plum etc. But if it doesnt improve you can go to the doctor and they can prescribe her something x

@CeeCee thank you! X

Get the pouches of prune puree, they work for my little boy! You can get them from most supermarkets down the baby food isles x

We struggled for a longtime with our little on being constipated and we found putting a teaspoon of flax seed her in morning weetabix really helped get her regular again as the prune puree just want cutting it xx

i'd get a gp check for peace of my mind. Fissures aren't that common in this age.
