I used coleif, I pumped while feeding on the other side and then gave that to my baby in a bottle with the drops, I found doing it in the middle of the day was most effective!
I really recommend simply dropping 4 drops straight into their mouth, don’t bother with the expressing faf, works well for us and I have found it even more effective than diluting it with milk tbh
Infacol and colief do different things. Infacol works to bring the gas bubbles in to the surface making them easier to burp. Colief helps baby digest lactose by using enzymes. I didn’t notice much difference so I stopped it and just use infacol as he’s so much easier to burp when he’s had it. The enzyme in colief will break down if it goes directly into baby’s mouth I think. Just might be worth investigating exactly why they wanted you to use colief as if baby doesn’t have an issue breaking down lactose then it’s a waste of time as it’s stressful to give when baby is acting like they’re starving lol. Sorry for the essay I just wish I’d known the difference before I went through 4 bottles of colief 😂 x
@Sofia my baby is 3 weeks old now, Would I be able to drop the drops into her mouth? I’m struggling with the 30 minute prep and waiting for it to settle into the milk, just doesn’t work at 3am haha x
@Zoe yes absolutely, we started the colief at around 1 week and by week 2 I was putting the drops straight into her mouth, mostly because I was lazy. And we have had a super calm happy baby, on the occasional day I have forgotten to be consistent with the colief I notice she is fussy and her tummy hurts (she does a scrunch and cries while doing it), so I think it’s working for us!
@Zoe also, Boots do colief for half the price everywhere else, 15ml bottle for £12.99, instead of the usual 7ml bottle for £12.99 !
Have you considered infacol? Really easy to give as it’s just a dropper of liquid before each feed straight into the mouth. My HV said all very much do the same thing🙂
