If your first had a tongue tie did your second too?

My first had a tongue tie that wasn't corrected until 7 weeks. We had so many issues at the beginning of our journey and the tongue tie procedure was a lot of money as we had to go private (UK). I believe there is some genetic link, as there has been other babies in our family with tongue tie too. I'm worried about having to deal with this again when my second is born in Feb whilst also recovering from a C-section and caring for a toddler. So I'm just wondering how common it is that people's second babies (or third etc) have also had a tongue tie?

My first didn’t have tongue tie but my second did also had it quite badly but was missed and wasn’t picked up on until I told the health visitor I thought she might be around 4months as she was losing weight and not drinking as well as my first x

If you know there's a possibility get it checked at the hospital when u give birth they can check it then the did with my Lil girl when I had her in may this year we did ask for the check they just did it u can ask them to check when u give birth and if ur baby dose have it they can book u in or give u a way to book in for it to be sorted on the nhs by Lil girls one was sorted by 2 weeks old and we missed are first appointment as we did realize they had put it at another hospital lol we live in the UK as well BTW try not to worry to much this time around you can be prepared for it and get it sorted straight away if it even dose happen x

My first and second both had ties and we had both corrected. The hospital referred us to the infant feeding team when it was noticed after birth but it still took a few weeks to be seen and have it sorted on the NHS.
