Bath time

We are having an absolute nightmare with our youngest. She's petrified of the bath she only needs to have a look at the water and starts screaming. She's never had an accident or anything to make her this way and we don't know what to do.

Have you tried a top and tail wash for the time being and seeing if that helps or maybe a sink bath in a smaller space may help x

My girl is like this when I’m bathing her but completely opposite and smiling when my husband does 🥲 maybe try switching who bathes her

@Asia it doesn't work for us still screams. X

@Shannon I havnt tried the sink yet.. maybe worth a go

Are you using a baby bath or main bath? Maybe some toys to entice her?

@Holly we've tried both baths and various different toys, music bubbles her favourite toys nothing 😩

Have you tried a baby bath? Some babies hate the big open space of the main bath tub! X

@Rytasha is give it a go see how you get on x

We use the Shnuggle bath tub and fill it with rubber ducks. I need to upgrade to the Shnuggle toddler bath one now she's getting so big though. But it's like a big seat where the baby is free to do what they like. They aren't restricted in any way at all. My baby absolutely hated lying down in the tub. I also bought an Octopus Light Up Bath Toy from amazon. It takes batteries, and my daughter is mesmerised by the flashing lights and the water spraying out of it

My little one cries when put in the bath until I put a flannel (dipped in bath water) on his chest/belly to cover him 😂 random but may be worth a try! X

Not the same at all but when I worked on a previous ward (psychiatry) self care was difficult for some so I’d use washing as play / self care. They couldn’t not wash - so I had to adapt the task to get the job done. I used a washing up bowl once! My baby had a few baths - toddler bath is the go to but we also have a sit up one that goes in the big bath.
