I've had a successful VBAC!

Baby girl arrived safe and well on Monday! So proud of myself and my body! Feel like I now have closure from my previous emergency c section which left me pretty down afterwards. Lots of things led to it having to happen and of course baby coming safe and well came first, but I genuinely grieved for not having a vaginal birth as it's what I'd always envisioned. First birth resulting in c section was an induction after my waters broke but no labour. This time I had a spontaneous labour... Laboured at home thinking I was in early labour as contractions were so irregular (turned out cord was wrapped multiple times around baby so she was getting distressed with each contraction hence random pattern) and thought I was being a wimp with the pain. Got to hospital expecting to be turned away but was already at 9cm! (I didn't go beyond 5cm with my first baby/emergency c section). Thanks for those who sent positive vibes! It's possible and for anyone else hoping to go through the same, I hope it happens for you too and I'm proof that it can despite the odds! X

Congratulations momma ❤️

What an amazing birth story, well done you!! 💪💪 What happened to the cord around baby, did you deliver normally and then they could remove the cord?

Congratulations!!! So pleased you got your VBAC! Currently 5 days overdue and hoping to get my VBAC dream too 🥰

Congratulations! 🥺

Look at those cheeks🥹🥹 Congratulations mama, She's gorgeous 🩷🩷

Confused. The birth story was of your first birth? What happened with your vaginal birth this round?

This gives me so much hope… I’m also grieving as I had to have an emergency C-section to but baby girl is here and safe. I hope I can have a VBAC for my next

@Jessica the story is of her second birth? She mentions she was already at 9cm when she arrived to the hospital and had a successful VBAC. She also mentions she didn't go beyond 5cm with her first baby hence the emergency c section...

@Jessica sorry if I didn't make it clear, written with a lot of adrenalin and sleep deprivation 😂 Slightly updated the middle bit as yes that was me talking about this birth story just to make it clear for anyone else that might stumble across it 😀 x

@Becca @Kelly best of luck! I really hope you get yours too ❤️ to be honest in the back of my mind I wasn't convinced it could happen so I'm just still in shock really but so happy x

@Audrey thanks so much! Yes they just sort of unraveled her a few times lol. It was just around her chest and tummy so not as dangerous as her neck but still a bit of a worry when she first came out especially when they held her up and I could see it snaking around her but all good 😀 x
