I don’t understand why more and more nurseries are doing this. They shouldn’t be going to the toilet alone at this age, they still need help! Two friends (different nurseries) little girls have both had water infections due to the lack of guidance at nursery. Sorry I can’t add much to help, just think it’s wrong of the nursery and honestly lazy!
@Katie at nursery she just goes off on her own, at home she screams for me to come with her 😂😂 and they were surprised by that. I have to tell her to tell someone but strangely every time I remind them in the morning she can’t do it herself they are always there but I feel a twat saying to them every drop off
@Francesca they seem to not know she’s gone which I don’t like cuz god knows what she could be doing in there (would probably end up washing the walls with soap) 😂 but every time I tell them at drop off they then help so I dunno if it’s the nursey staff being new and not knowing. We’ve tried to show her at home but she doesn’t understand how to do it properly and especially the correct way for girls 🫠
I think it's good practice for them, to be honest, both in nursery and at home, at least trying to do it themselves, as they'll have to be able to do it by themselves when starting school, as teachers in school are not allowed to do it (learned this the hard way, as my nearly 3.5 year old came home from school one day last week with a dirty bum).
@Lilita were trying to teach her but she’s tall for her age and her arms are short and she can’t actually reach 🙈 but we’ll continue to try. She’s keen to try but say ‘o can’t reach my bum hole’😂😂
I am shocked to hear at nursery she does this on her own Their arms are not even long enough for this 🙈 so wouldn’t be able to do it properly for a good while yet! I don’t think my son’s nursery promote independent wiping , I would assume not anyway but now I feel like I Have to ask them out of curiosity 😂
