Have you met with a lactation consultant? I have one extremely inverted nipple and had no problem with the nipple shield! (A lactation consultant literally told me mine is the most inverted she’s ever seen.) I was given the Medela brand in the hospital and was measured by a lactation consultant there . I had measured myself at home before giving birth using online guidelines and was actually way off (I thought I needed a 28mm based on my own measurements and actually needed a 22.) Sizing down made a huge difference for me - but it took him 2 or 3 days to get used to it. It was really hard watching him fuss and cry as he tried to eat, but one day it all just clicked. I also used the Lansinoh nipple everter at first before putting the shield and that helped!
Pump for like two minutes then try to latch!
It’s not uncommon for babies to be frustrated by breastfeeding for the reason you stated. You should try pace feeding so she can get acquainted with a slower rate of feeding
@Sabrina so do you have to use that lansinoh product every time before feeding?
try stimulating them.. i have a flat/inverted nipple on my right boob so for awhile i was only pumping on that boob til i started stimulating it or do a slight pump with my hand held manual pump so i’m able to switch boobs
