You can build your milk supply by pumping for a while (a week should be enough) while also breastfeeding your child. Usually lack of milk it's due to an incorrect attach so the baby doesn't get enough milk and since they are not taking milk your body produces less. Breastfeeding is really hard so it's not your fault, but I would ask for support before baby is due and for a while after. The baby needs to learn to attach properly, I know that many say breastfeeding comes natural. It does NOT. Both baby and mama need to learn how to do it. My boy didn't latch properly until he was almost 1 month old (he only sucked a little and then left), I was so stressed, I kept pumping to keep the reservers high. We then learned how to do it properly and he was breastfeed 16 months. It's not your or baby's fault, but I would seek support in advance if you want to go down that route. Good luck:)
I’ve had supply issues due to insufficient tissue but also because of a poor latch which meant my breasts weren’t being emptied efficiently so my body wasn’t being signalled to make more milk. Pumping for 10mins after she has fed to really drain every last drop has made the biggest difference and meant I’ve been able to continue to EBF, within 3-4 days my supply increased dramatically x
Because you are pregnant your body is trying to build reserves for the baby in your belly. Unfortunately it has been known to be common for supply to lessen if you are pregnant. You should have much better luck with your second baby when they are here as long as you don't get pregnant again.
