Do u have a peri bottle?

@Noelle i dont unfortunately ive tried using a jug but not much help

Dr shouldve prescribed docusate upon discharge try to take them regularly even if you take more than one a day you do not want to be constipated! No tips on healing faster besides avoid sex keep it clean and make sure you shower at least twice daily

@Noelle thank you so much

Peri bottle was my bestie for two weeks i loved using it with lukewarm water some people prefer to use it with cold- start squirting before you start to pee and keep squirting the bottle while you pee

I had 2nd degree tears too, my best advice is to drink plenty of water to dilute your pee as much as possible so it stings less! It won't last long, I barely had any discomfort there after a few days x the hemorrhoid I had was so much worse 😑

I had a second degree tear and a labial graze. I used a peri bottle at every toileting episode. I sprayed spritz for bits (1000/10 recommend) directly onto me aswell as dampening my pads first. Im 10 days post partum and im not at the itchy stage rather than pain! Xx

I had exactly the same when I had my little girl and the best thing I did was lie on my bed, on a towel and let air get round to dry the wounds up and I also lay with a bag of frozen peas on me, that really helped x

Definitely peribottle, but also I found the frida witch hazel liners incredible! You put them on top of your pad, they help to soothe and cool, helped me so much! You can also put them in the freezer too, the cold can help with swelling

Get some witch hazel pad liner and some perineal ice packs Xx

Peri bottle and drinking lots and lots of water!

I used to wee in the shower under a stream of warm water

I had a second degree tear. Used the peri bottle every time I went to the toilet. It’s important not to wipe with toilet paper. Just pat dry after washing with the peri. I sprayed spritz for bits onto my pad and made sure I changed them regularly. With this I didn’t have experience pain for long and it healed really well. To go to the toilet for the first couple of weeks I took lactulose prescribed by the hospital to make it easier. For me it didn’t hurt that much when weeing but really did for my friend. She found water at the same time as weeing helped. So either water going over the area at the same time using the bottle or sometimes sitting in the bath and going and just showering after.

Put some witchhazel and aloe gel on some maternity pads and put them in the freezer for a few hours. Will help heal and soothe the pain

I’m in the same boat, Perri bottle is a must, drink lots of water, use ice Frida mom does an ice pack pad that’s great and use lots of witch hazel pads on top of your pad. Pain killers also help with the swelling.

Change your pad frequently, don’t wait for it to get too saturated. Try to keep everything clean down there so you don’t get it infected. Happened to me and it’s not fun. Spend 10 mins laying with your legs apart to air your bits, works wonders for healing! As others have said, peri bottle and spritz for bits also helped. You could try using an ice pack wrapped in a tea towel/kitchen paper and put it in your knickers. It will help with the swelling. Rest up mama. It gets better!! Xx

Second all the comments, get a peri bottle girl!! Luke warm water and then dab with a toilet tissue (like a baby wipe but you can flush) never ever wipe! Also laxatives (maybe Lactulose too - i had to take medication but that made me constipated so i took both) & cooling pads or spritz for bitz on a normal pad!

Definitely a peri bottle, warm water inside use it as your peeing.. I tore with both my children. Also cooling sanitary towels are good. You can get them from Amazon.. it’s like you snap the sanitary towels and it realises a coldness while wearing them. Wishing you a speedy recovery

I found the boots own brand maternity pads were the softest :) and quite cheap!!

Aloe Vera on pads too as I found the witch hazel ones felt odd and didn’t really like them, loads and loads of water to dilute your urine and the peri bottle was a game changer, I like really warm water in mine xx

None of y’all’s OBs said anything about Dermoplast? It’s like a mild numbing spray, you can get at any drug store cheap. Spray it before you go, for a while… so you don’t feel anything. Peri bottle to clean.
