My boy has been generally charting around 50th percentile and he's only gained about 4 pounds since birth also. Sounds like your daughter is just naturally small, and following her own appropriate curve! Honestly she looks small in the photo but her cheeks and belly both look nice and filled out!
My baby was born full term at 5 lbs 15 oz, she’s stayed in the 3rd percentile her whole 7 1/2 weeks of life. Our pediatrician says someone has to make up the low percentiles, as long as she’s growing it’s nothing to be worried about
My first two babies were thin, but tall! They are thriving. They are still thin. My husband and I were thin kids. My third is not so thin. I've been eating a lot more fat in my diet, and my kids' pediatrician thinks that's the difference. Also, your daughter is beautiful!!!!
I agree with everyone here - my daughter was born within average parameters at birth - 19 in, 7.5 lbs - but her growth at 1 month came out to be within 32nd percentile, but she is very healthy and thriving - she’s just long and thin naturally, and although she eats more than 4 oz at 7+ weeks, her body is not chubs only her cheeks. While I would also love to see her fatten up, she might not be able to due to her genetics and metabolism. As long as your baby is healthy and thriving and eating enough you don’t have to try to push your baby to be what they’re not genetically or biologically. They’ll get there on their own as they grow. 🫶🏼🫶🏼
Firstly, your daughter is beautiful. Don’t try to “fatten up” your baby. You can over feed baby if you’re feeding formula, but you can’t if you’re breastfeeding. My babies were all born small and they gained plenty of weight as time went on. Usually around 3 months is when I saw them really starting to put on weight. Intentionally trying to get your baby to gain weight rapidly can increase their chances of health issues down the line.
