Hospital Bag Help!

I’m now 31 weeks pregnant and I’m stressing on what to put in my hospital bag. What sizes should I take? Do I need sleep suits and vests? Or only sleep suits or? What size nappies? Do I need ready made formula bottles if I plan on breast feeding? If so how many? What should I take to prepare for breast feeding? As you can tell I’m all over the place stressed. If anyone has a list on what they took and sizes would be really helpful. I have newborn clothes but people have told me they’re too small. I’m just very overwhelmed 😫 TIA

If it helps, I’ve packed newborn and size 0-3. I haven’t gone tiny as my baby is currently weighing more than that but if you want to cover all bases then pack some of those. I’ve gone for 2 long sleeved sleepsuits/body suits, 2 short sleeved, a top and bottom set and a going home outfit. I’ve packed newborn size 1 and 2 nappies again just in case And I’ve packed the aptamil formula bottles. I got mine from Sainsbury’s but you can also get them in boots. As for prep for breastfeeding, I bought the Lansinoh breastfeeding kit from boots. Boots have a baby event on where BABYJAN gets you £5 off every £40 that’s spent. I hope this helps!xx

@Claudia thank you, I’ll revisit my bag tomorrow! I didn’t want to take too much or too little. Have you packed muslin cloths at all? I’ve packed 3 but not sure if it was enough. Trying to use the internet to help me pack but they all say something different 🥲

You’re very welcome :) I totally get that, it’s hard to know first time around! I have indeed. I got a pack of 3 from my Your Baby pack. I think 3 should be okay as you’ll also have either the water wipes or cotton balls, depending on your preference. It’s a blessing and a curse the internet! So much information but all different lol xx

3 sleepsuits and 3 vests, size newborn 1 sleep and 1 vest size 0-1 just incase😂 Size 0 nappies if they’re pampers or size 1 everywhere lose Take ready made formula with the teats just incase Id just take 1 box because the hospital can give you some If you’re really stressing over sizes asdas first size is basically a bigger version of newborn but not quite 0-1

@Natalya thank you I’ve done new born vests and 0-3 sleep suits. I think I may need to switch a few out. I’ll take a look at Asda thank you. I’d rather have too big than too small as I’m cautious nappies have to fit too. We have pampers so might just take 0s and see how I go. Thank you for the help!

0-1 is always a safe bet! And you’re welcome, I only took size 1 pampers the first time round and wondered why they were so big on him it was only when he was a couple months old I discovered size 0😂😂😂😂

@Natalya oh no! Bless. I wasn’t sure how much the hospital offers if you don’t have items or what items they offer so I want to make sure I at least have something for every scenario but I know that’s impossible 😂

This is my 2nd time around I know what to pack for baby just not myself😂😂😂😂

Id pack sleep suits and vests, personally I've only packed 0-1m and 0-3m but that's based on my two previous babies being quite long and over 8lbs and neither fitted newborn so haven't bothered 😅 I've packed 3 vests and 3 sleep suits in each size! I've packed size 1 nappies and a pack of water wipes! most hospitals provide ready made formula if you need it, so unless there's a really specific brand you'd want for baby I wouldn't worry! Id take some breastpads with you and maybe some nipple cream, the midwives and or a lactation consultant will be able to help you with getting baby to latch and if you need to express whilst you're there then they can help with that too! You can try to express some colostrum in advance to take with you but it's not necessary! I've packed 3 muslins and a couple bibs, also a cellular blanket! I've packed a couple hats too, some of the cotton ones and also a wool one, both times with my boys even though I've taken hats with me they've given me a knitted one anyway! X

Hi I’ll be packing 3x sleepsuits and vests in sizes newborn & 0-1m, last time I packed 0-1m & 0-3m and my little girl was tiny and didn’t have clothes that fit 😅 Im gonna use pampers size 1. and I’ve heard a lot of people say not to pack formula if you’re planning to breastfeed as you’ll use it just because it’s there, if breastfeeding doesn’t go to plan then the hospital will be able to provide formula. I’d take just breast pads and a few nursing bras and maybe nipple shields if you plan on using them. I wouldn’t worry about packing nipple creams/balms. I’ve found it really helpful both times to google generic checklists, most baby related websites have one on there and then make your own checklist taking bits off a few, it’s deffo helped me feel more organised and ready!

I also found it really helpful to watch tiktoks of what people packed in theirs, you get a lot of different opinions and ideas.. @_bea_daily makes such helpful videos!

Last time I packed 0-3 and my baby was 9lb and these didn’t end up fitting for about 2 months so am not packing them this time 🤣
