Crying at breast

Hi all, I have an 8 week old who has started to cry towards the end of her feed. I have a fast let down and she usually fusses a bit at the start of the feed and sometimes has a cough at the boob as well- this has been consistent from around week 4. But the crying towards the end of feed is new. I take her off to burp, there's always a bit of spit up involved,,, but im now not confident if she's getting her full feed. Up to last week she was on the boob for 2.5-3hrs/day and suddenly since this behaviour we are more at 1.5-2.5hrs a day with similar frequency. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi what’s positions are you feeding her in? Does she fall asleep during feedings? Do you use nipple shield or straight skin to skin?

We had exactly the same problem. Couldn't understand what's the problem until I discovered that one burp wasn't enough, my little boy needed at least 2 burps. Obviously, not sure if it's the same case for you.

@Amirah side lying or laid back/cradle hold are our go to positions. Very rarely falls asleep at the breast although she does take breaks as she goes. No nipple shield, always skin to skin. It's very odd because she was more than happy to just do a 30min feed and no issues afterwards, and the feed after she fed for 10mins, came off happy but within 30 seconds later started crying and hasn't stopped 😐

@Sintia hmm okay, will see if more burps come up but sometimes I don't even get one burp and she's angry 😵‍💫 do you reoffer the boob after the burp?

Has anything in your diet changed recently that could be upsetting to her stomach ? Have you tried to pump and offer her a bottle and see if she still cries ?
