Failed sweep
Midwife tried a sweep today said baby’s head was very low and my cervix was behind it so she couldn’t reach as it was too painful and I asked her to stop. She did say it was lowish and the edge felt soft she just couldn’t get close enough to feel if I was dilated without pulling it forwards a bit 🤢 It’s been 4 hours and still having tightening and lots of back pains do you think it’s triggered labour or just irritated my body?

@Ceri the pains and tightenings have settled now so must’ve just been irritated. So weird that the head can be really low but they can’t reach the cervix, didn’t know that was even possible
I know I was so confused!? Midwife said it wasn’t anything to be disheartened by!? Sweeps are kinda pointless anyway I think? 😅 are you going to have another one?
I had three stretch & sweeps. My midwife also said my baby's head had pushed my cervix backwards! Unfortunately none of my sweeps worked but my midwife at least confirmed that I was dilated

Probably just irritated… but I feel you because exactly the same happened to me today! Cervix was behind babies head but she did say it was short!? She couldn’t do the sweep though so I’m kinda confused. It was pretty sore… she said babies head was super low. Feeling achey and twingey now x
