I have mixed breast milk with cows milk in the first 2 weeks and then went for 100% cows milk, at 14 months, it worked just fine 💖
@Soraia why have I never thought to mix them…🤣
How often are you breastfeeding now? I’ve not done it yet but from what I’ve read it’s best to do it one feed at a time. Offer distraction like food, toys or change of scenery. When I do it I was going to do the don’t offer but also don’t say no. I’ve cut right down during the day doing this but it’s the nights which are the problem for me. Does your lo feed overnight? I’ve read it needs to be dad who puts lo to bed and for all overnight wakes. The first night will be the worst. You will be able to put lo to bed after a week or so xx
@Michelle I just feed on demand if I’m honest but he hardly wants it in the daytime now it’s more at night. So before bed I give him 8 or 9oz of cows milk and a hour or so he’ll wake up wanting me to feed him and then it’s every few how’s he’ll wake up for a feed. Unfortunately my partner doesn’t live with us at the minute so he can’t get up with him but even when my partners here and my LB wakes up in the night he refuses to go to him and will cry until I pick him up 💔😭 my partner tells me to ignore him but I find it extremely hard to x
Oh no that’s going to be a bit more difficult but it won’t be impossible. I’m sorry your partner thinks that way 😞. I’m hoping someone else comments for you as me giving suggestions without much knowledge will probably be useless xx
We did one feed at a time. We got it down to two/three feeds. One before bed and one/two in the middle of the night. I weaned her off the feed before bed first. The middle of the night ones were harder. My husband would try and sooth her but it didn't work. So I would try soothing her by rocking her which worked. If you're LO is fighting you in the middle of the night he could actually be hungry and not waking for comfort - at least this was the case for our LO. Once she was eating more in the day things really changed and she didn't wake at night.
No tips but here for advice also 🥲🤣
