What’s classed as sleeping through the night?

I’ve seen a lot of different thoughts on what is classed as sleeping through the night and I’m not sure what others opinion on this is? What do you class as when people say babies are sleeping through the night without a feed at this age?

i think *technically* it’s classed as 6 hours - that’s what my GP said anyway

For me it would be anytime from 5 o’clock in the morning onwards as that’s when I class it as morning lol xx

Technically it is 6 hours, I consider it to be between bedtime and when we get up in the morning so 10+. (More like 11-12) But I wouldn't expect that at this age. We have 1 feed between 9pm-8am and his first stretch has been over 6 hours for the past week so I guess technically he's sleeping through.

I think it's completely down to you! I class sleeping through if she doesn't wake me up from my sleep but if she needs anything before I go to bed or once I'm already awake then I don't even think about it 🤣 x

Mine sleeps 7 to 1ish and then to 6.30 with a whole lot of noise in the early hours. I'm not classing this as sleeping through 🫠😆

6 hours or more

I’d say waking for no feeds x

Like Lucy, I'd say if they sleep in the core hours of the night, or generally when you also sleep (late night to morning). I wouldn't just say tot hours, because mine slept 8 last night, 22 to 6 (then back down again), but if he had done 20 to 4, it would have been a bit different LOL

I’d say 10pm - 6am at the bare minimum
