I had this happen a few times in my breastfeeding journey so far, no fun! If you are breastfeeding, still let baby feed from your affected breast. Warm shower and lymphatic massage, ice after, and advil got rid of mine every time. If you have flu like symptoms contact your OB. Good luck!
You probs have mastitis. Go to the doc, it’s a serious infection. Start by icing and taking Tylenol for any pain but put ice packs on it as much as you can stand it. Then start taking sunflower lecithin and work with an LC on how to avoid it. Don’t do heat whatever you do. The direction has changed it is now ice. Please don’t try to DIY your way through this one, a tissue infection isn’t like a viral infection. You will need antibiotics.
I agree. If you have flu like symptoms go to OB. If not try Sunflower lecithin, hot pack and massage around the affected area just before feeding, to loosen them out. I scheduled appointment with lactation consultant and they helped teach massage techniques appropriate for clogged ducts
You might have mastitis if you have a red mark and are feeling flu symptoms. But some things that work for me: 1. sunflower lecithin. 2. hot bath (as hot as you can handle) and massaging it toward the nipple. You can use a vibrator or electric toothbrush too! 3. fill a haaka with hot salt water and massage Good luck!
