Does be take a bottle? You could express milk (if you're able to between feeds) and give it at night time. That may help along with maybe more solids during the day time
We’re on two meals a day, he was on three but he was getting constipated. @Ebony
I used to express so he can have a bottle and not need me at night but he still wouldn’t settle down without me, and the expressing really messed up my supply and I ended up with Masitis 😢@Helen
@Ruby try 3 meals but with lots of fiber to stop the constipation or even prunes. He's going to be a little constipated as it's new food his body needs to digest. It's like us adult get a little constipated from time to time
I had the exact same thing until he was 8 months, you're doing so well to still be doing it after this long. Have you heard of reverse cycling? Have a look into it to see if that's it. I thought it was that but it didn't help for me, I ended up having to sleep train at 8 months because he just wasn't sleeping and I wasn't coping. We had been trying gentle sleep training methods before 8 months but none of them worked for him so we tried the Ferber method on a whim one night when he just wouldn't sleep. Two nights of crying for half an hour, closely monitored and checking in every 5 minutes, but straight away he started sleeping better. The first night he slept 3 hours and 45 minutes in one hit. Now, at 9.5 months, he's sleeping 8-9 hours, has a feed and goes back down for another couple of hours. Either 1 or 2 wakes a night. I know it's controversial but sometimes needs must. I hope you find a way through ❤️ x
@Ruby. That's difficult. Mine will only settle down with a dummy at the moment and being rocked otherwise they're awake and screaming. When mine breastfeeds I always pump 30 minutes after to make sure I'm empty because I usually exclusively pump but the mornings we directly breast feed so I don't have to get up.
Thankyou @Hazel
Have you considered co-sleeping/ breast-sleeping? This was my boy also until I decided to co sleep at 3 months and we both now get a lot more sleep! He does still wake a lot during the night but it’s a case of wake then feeds straight back to sleep. Whereas before the crib was such an ordeal and I’d literally have about 40 mins in between feeds through the night so I feel your pain. You need to do a bit of research to make your sleep space is made safe for baby but it’s more than doable if you wanted. xx
I put him down in his cot for his initial sleep and then wheneva he wakes up after that he co sleep after and have been since roughly 4 months id say x ofc safely, it’s the sleeping ridiculously late and constantly waking up at night, he can easily wake up between 4-10 times in the night feeds and then goes back to sleep
Have you tried upping day time food. I found when my little girl wasn't sleeping at night was because she wasn't getting enough food. We're on 3 meals a day and only breastfed first thing in the morning, nap times, before bed and 1 maybe 2 times at night
