I never really established a pattern with my first baby. I had an anterior placenta and I only felt her when I sat down for a while. It's much the same with my second now, even though I felt movement earlier. It's anterior again and I still mainly feel movement when I sit or lay down
This is my 3rd baby and I’m 25 weeks today with an anterior placenta and I definitely don’t feel him as much as I did with my other 2. I had a scan on Friday and all was fine so not sure why I don’t feel a great deal. I had an anterior placenta and she had strong movements by 23 weeks x
Just for comparison, I have a posterior placenta so even though I felt movements earlier, I have still don’t really think there’s any sort of pattern yet. Apparently patterns are more common at 24 weeks but as others have said above, I feel most movements at night once I’ve gotten into bed but during the day, there’s no consistency day to day xx
Thanks so much ladies for getting back to me it makes me feel so much better! My midwife mentioned as I’m working to try make a point of keeping track during the day but there’s just not a lot of noticeable movement but I’m the same mainly at night and mainly when lying down or on my side. I’m ready for lying on the floor in work for 5 minutes at this rate haha!!
Have you noticed anything that causes movement? I have an anterior placenta (22 + 2) and for example I find that drinking Fanta orange always makes him move x
@Sarah not really yet to be honest. It’s more time of the day mainly at night and actually in the morning when I wake up I’ll be on my side so feel it kick then just during the day in work I feel the odd thing but then they tell you even to look out for if it doesn’t seem as strong! So hard not to worry sometimes!
Wasn’t feeling movement and I ate some food, that helped. I’ve heard cold water helps.
i feel little one kicks more after i eat or if i have a really cold drink. plus i think its after 24 weeks that they start having a pattern as they’re still super tiny. my midwife said it’ll be easier to keep track at 28 weeks as i struggled with reduced movement a lot with my first due to having an anterior placenta
@Kirstin I wouldn’t be worried, it sounds like you’re feeling plenty. Like you I find I feel kicks mainly at night and only the odd movement during the day. You have to remember that during the day when you’re moving around you rock them to sleep, so there will be less movement x
I'm 23+1 and thinking the same the only thing that is consistent is night time movements he's always active at night but during the day is hit and miss.
