C-Section questions

Hi! For anyone who’s had a c-section previously; I know everyone’s different, but how long was it until you were allowed to drive again after a c-section?? And also how long were you kept in after?? I had my pre op today and completely forgot to ask🫣

You got your section tomorrow? Me too!! Can't remember when I started driving again.. I had complications last time so was in for a week. Hoping not this time!

I've seen others who were fine and were allowed home after 24 hours 😬

@Jo mine is on Friday🫶🏼 Fingers crossed for you!! Wishing you a safe delivery and healthy baby🫶🏼

I was home after 24 hours with mine, can’t say anything on the driving as I don’t drive hahaa xxx

I was home within 24 hours and they say don’t drive until 6 weeks after or more depending on how you feel, I did try around 5 weeks after as was feeling great however, I did struggle and got to the end of the road before I turned back round so I would deffo wait 6 weeks or more as you use and pull the muscles without realising and is quite uncomfortable x

They say 6 weeks but from an insurance point of view if you feel ready sooner then I think that's fine, aslong as you are able to safely do an emergency stop with minimal pain x

They used to say 6 weeks for insurance purposes however, I spoke to my insurer and they said as long as my doctor is ok with me driving and I’m happy to do an emergency stop then I’m totally fine to drive again. I spoke to doctors and they said they’re happy to ok it as I’d be happy to 💃🏼 so I drove around 2 weeks after. I was in for 2 days after even with complications. I was desperate to get home as it was right by Christmas. Had I not got home when I did, I’d have been in over Christmas. With a planned section they try to get you out asap so as long as there’s no complications you should be out the next day. They’ll have you up and walking about same day you have baby xx

They say 6 weeks and tbh i found that earlier than that hurt so i waited till 6 weeks to drive, everything was pretty much healed up by then.
