Potty
Hi everyone, I need help with potty training my 2-year-old daughter. We've been working on it for about a month, and she's made good progress with pee. She communicates her needs and even gets up during nap time to use the bathroom. However, she's having trouble with bowel movements. Previously, she would have 2 or 3 bowel movements a day while wearing diapers. Now, she's resistant to using the toilet for this purpose and will either hold it in or try to hide and do it on herself. What strategies can we use to address this issue?
One thing that has really helped with potty training both my girls has been getting her onto the potty when you see she is looking to go hide somewhere. Once I see it, I rush her to the potty and have her sit down. I then step outside the door to give her privacy. I check on her outside the door and then when she goes we give a lot of praise. I was struggling for a long time with my oldest daughter and it was just the privacy that was making her hesitant.
