Prodromal labour - please help

Having prodromal contractions for almost 10 hours, 4/5 mins apart. I'm exhausted. Went to hospital, not dilated at all at 4pm today, told me to come back when they are 2 mins apart. Any one experienced this? Do they end before actual labour?

I’ve been having them 15 min apart for 3 days now. My dr said the same thing. Come in when they’re stronger/ closer together 🥲

How are you still sane? Can you sleep? Mine are horrific, can't speak, take my breath away. I'm 40 +3

With my first I had them every 5 minutes, every day, all day, for 2 weeks. Unfortunately if you’re not dilating there isn’t anything they can do :( I went in at 3cm and they told me to walk the hospital for an hour to help and then go back to get checked, no more dilation so they sent me to walk for another hour, got checked afterwards and was at a 3.5 and after the nurse left I lost my mucus plug on the bed, they still couldn’t keep me because I wasn’t at 4cm but they gave me morphine to help with the contractions, I ended up going in about 12 hours later and was finally at a 4 and I gave birth 8.5 hours later. So basically long story short, it’s possible for them to end before active labour but it doesn’t always happen

I had prodromal labor for a week before having my daughter in June. Rest when you can and try to keep a positive mindset. You are stronger than the contractions and this isn’t forever momma xx

There is no rest, they are every 4/5 minutes apart. Will the hospital give me pain relief if I go back do you think? I lost my mucus plug at 9am this morning. I'd happily welcome morphine right now Domenica. I don't want to be induced or have a c section. Thanks for the replies, it helps 😊

Have you tried having a sweep? X

The midwife did a check today/yesterday at 4pm and said I hadn't dilated at all.

I've been told to come back in the morning for another check so I'm really hoping things have progressed or that I can at least get some pain relief, paracetamol are making absolutely no difference.

@Sue they can give you codeine in hospital or you can get co codamol over the counter

I’ve had it now every night at the same time for a good week. I’m so done with it 😭

Jamie, thank you. I went in after 13 hours of contractions every 5ins, 2cm dilated 😒 Gave me pain relief which was amazing but I am on my way home again as my contractions have not gotten more frequent and no waters.

Nicole I feel your pain, go in and get some relief if you can x

I didn't sleep but the high for a few hours was lovely.
