Postpartum hair loss

My daughter had her first birthday exactly a month ago and my pp hair loss is still going strong. I haven't actually done something about it seriously yet but I'm curious to know if anyone was in my situation. Did you do something that worked for you?

I didn’t start til 8 m pp and it didn’t slow down til 18m pp I didn’t wear my hair up. I washed it only once a week and took vitamin D supplements

PP hair loss can last about a year. What products are you using in your hair? Many commercial products actually cause hair loss, which can exasperate the problem.

I still have hair loss but it wasn’t cray like before ): I just let it be. I feel like I’m bald in certain spots. I try to leave my hair down. Honestly I got my hair done and I don’t feel as self-conscious and I’m embracing the new color. Maybe that might help if you want to get your hair done??

I just restarted taking my prenatals daily instead of weekly

@Keylii I've just started k18 shampoo conditioner and olaplex bonding oil and keratin smoothing conditioner because I feel tangles are making me lose even more 😅

I've started Mommy's Bliss reset my body gummies. That coupled with keratin conditioner and olaplex seems to be working for now.

@Appy those are probably your biggest cuprits. Olaplex is currently being sued by several women claiming hair loss. I'll be honest, I really struggle with hair care because my own head is so sensitive. Any times they use olaplex on my head at the salon, my head breaks out in sores. Many salon brands claim to repair your hair, but they usually contain alcohols and sulfates that deteriorate your hair in the long run. It's similar to how apples have a wax on the outside to keep it "fresh" but you can cut one open and find it to be rotten. So your hair feels soft on the outside, but each hair strand is slowly being suffocated, so to speak. I actually use Honest brand shampoo and conditioner, I realize it's in the baby section, but my hair doesn't fall out anymore, and to me, that's worth it. The conditioner leaves my hair soft too. It's not salon quality soft, but it's not a disaster either. As for bald spots, look into something with rosemary oil. It's been proven to grow back hair.

Uh oh. I just started the bonding oil from olaplex. I haven't had any reaction, if anything it seems to have helped keeping my hair detangled. But I hear you. I'll try honest.
