Have you (or known anyone personally) gotten pregnant when both partners were sterilized?

I had my tubes tied during my last c-section and my husband also got a vasectomy. My period is late, I'm pretty sure because I stopped a medication, and my husband is getting worried lol. But there's no way, right? ...right?? 😬😅 I wasn't concerned but now he's getting in my head a little.

Nature does find a way ...take a test ...don't freak out yet ...when did you have them tied and when did your husband have his done , because if you both got it within a year there is a small chance of both failing in that case take pregnancy tests once a month if periods are late just to be sure But really you periods might be all over the place ,and you might get some awful hormonal shifts...

@Holly both procedures done in 2022.

Yeah that's still fairly resent .....someone managed to get pregnant after her husband getting the snip 7 years prior,well they still have two bonus kids 😂id get a pregnancy test love x Even if it seems impossible it's best to know then have a cryptic pregnancy and then not know till it happens ...take regular tests each month.. until you reach menopause...if your still having periods and not in menopause or perimenpause...there is still a small chance ...there are miracles every day ♥️

if you got the tubal ligation instead of the bilateral salpingectomy, there’s a small chance your tubes could either “grow” back, the clips could come off, or if the procedure was done wrong there could still be some left, i’ve heard. so there may be a chance. but a very small one (i’m talking less than 3%)

Anything less than 5 years is more likely to "fail". My husband went in for a vasectomy consultation recently, I'm choosing not to have a tubal ligation or anything like that just for personal reasons. But he did say that the first 5 years after a vasectomy even after confirming no sperm, are more likely to have a failure of vasectomy. I actually know several people that they had a vasectomy or a tubal ligation and the tubes we connected themselves after they cleared them as sterile

@Faye ugh 😩 But BOTH of us? I feel like the chances of that have to be so tiny.

You could hope so! 😅

@Faye well we'll see I guess 🤞. I can't say I want more kids but it's more than I don't want to go through another pregnancy 😅
