Anyone else feeling like this is all temporary ? (Baby blues)

4 weeks PP on Monday and I’ve definitely had the baby blues a lot. I wouldn’t say I’m at the PPD stage but I have this feeling of this is all temporary and I’m waiting for things to go back to normal, then get the sudden ‘dread’ / anxiety feeling knowing actually this is permanent and life will never be the same again, I’ll have this responsibility forever of looking after my baby and it’s going to be forever changing, each day unpredictable and the future unknown. It’s almost like I feel homesick or grief for our old life. I am wondering when this feeling will likely go away and when will I adapt to just living life with my baby? Would usually post incognito out of embarrassment tbh but posting as me because I feel we need to be open and honest, and normalise these feelings!❤️

My little girl is nearly 2 weeks and I’ve been feeling this feeling for a few days now but couldn’t describe it. I feel ungrateful/guilty for feeling this way. Hope it passes for us soon xx

Day 5 crash here, and yes I feel awful. I questioned earlier if we’ve ruined our lives by doing this but I know we haven’t and I love him so much. We’ll all be okay.

I feel the same and my little girl is 2 weeks. Each day does feel a little lighter so I'm hoping it passes

Yes sweetheart, it will go away eventually🩷 It’s completely normal to feel like this at the moment and you’ll forget you ever felt this way as you settle into a new normal. I’m feeling it all over again after having my second born and trying to tell myself it’ll get better. I’m feeling that sense of grief of just being a family of three! Big hugs xx

With my first I definitely got moments where I suddenly felt overwhelmed by the fact that this was life now. But it does get easier once you get into more of a rhythm and you figure out how to give yourself free time or get a breather. It’s terrifying but amazing all at once!

I’m also 4 weeks pp on Monday and have been feeling this way. I’ve found what helps the most is getting fresh air on a walk every day and when my partner is home from work I make a point of getting out of the house on my own, even if it’s just to the local shop. Please know you’re not alone in this and I’m certain it will get better as we settle into our changing lives! 🤍

I definitely had this early on and have moments of like holy f this is life now and we have to do it all again tomorrow but they were fleeting and are now I’m 18 months pp and about to have baby number two this month. What you’re feeling is sooo normal!

I had times with my first child in the very early few weeks where it felt like that, I think because it was just so overwhelming. I would imagine you will stop feeling like this very soon! If you can hang in there one day at a time, you'll start to adjust and just love it! Little ones get a lot easier as they get a bit older and you'll find your rhythm ☺️

Waking up and reading all these comments has made me feel loads better knowing it’s such a common feeling and it will go away! We’re all in this together and evidentially not alone in our feelings! I will try not to feel too guilty and just take each day as it comes🥰❤️

This thread has changed my life. Honestly, I was feeling the same and feel so guilty about it. 6 days PP for me and have moments where everything feels terrible (usually when things are a bit out of control). Moments where things go right are helping, but definitely not outweighing the uneasy feelings. Difficult to open up to partner as he will worry, and I do believe that this is going to pass!

I'm 4 weeks pp on Monday as well. I struggled at the beginning, I still have short periods of being down. I had bad mental heath before baby, I was under mental health midwife then watched closely for the first 5 days after coming home 2 days after baby was born. This was due to personal circumstances but I put myself back on antidepressants and ive improved. I would not have survived the last week without them (my house flooded, and I'm now living in a hotel with an almost 4 week old)

Feeling exactly the same, 4 weeks in with our second and have so much guilt for missing how easy it was with just one and counting down till I’m out of the newborn faze 😭
