I don’t know any one who pays their family for child care lol. Sometimes ill buy my mom food on my way back from wherever or buy snacks for her at my house but besides that she’s more than happy to spend time with our baby (:
No. They do it because they want to spend time with them.
I don't usually "pay" family because usually they are more than happy to watch our LO just so they can get some baby snuggles. Sometimes I will get a gift card or something if I have someone watch her for more than a day or if we go out of town and she stays with grandma and grandpa we will bring back a gift (usually wine). I don't think it's super common to pay family members though.
It depends on the situation. I'd loooove my mum to take my youngest for a day or so a week instead of nursery but she can't afford to retire yet so needs to work. If I could help cover some of her expenses so she could do it then I absolutely would! I always cover days out and food though. That's just common sense for me if it's childcare. My mum is taking my eldest for half term soon and we'll cover all that so she can take him out without worrying. I think childcare while you're working is different to just family spending time with the child at the weekends.
I think it massively depends on the family context and it's perfectly ok to pay or not to pay as long as it works for the family concerned.
No but I provide LOs meals, they pay if they choose to take him out to softplay etc
No we are really lucky my mum even buys nappies wipes spare clothes car seats etc
It depends. If it's a regular thing and a lot of hours yes - like both grandmothers helped out when I went back to work as we didn't have a creche spot yet so all summer last year they minded her 4 days a week, we bought them expensive gifts (1500 worth each) as we knew they wouldn't accept cash. If it's a day/few hours here or there to help with appointments or something, like they will now help out one day a week alternative weeks minding #2 for two hours while I take eldest swimming then no.
I pay my sister as she looks after my lb 8-6 every Monday instead of working so I pay her £45 x
Definitely not 😂 they wouldn’t take it even if I insisted anyways
