Baby rolling

My boy will be 5 months tomorrow, and over the past week has rolled back to front a few times. He still seems to be pretty shocked when he does it though 😂 however he’s not rolled front to back, and today got really distressed at being ‘stuck’ on his front (it all happened in the time it took for me to take the dog out for a wee, so he was only on his play mat for a couple of minutes). Has anyone got any tips on getting them to roll front to back? He’s not made any signs of rolling that way, and I’m keen that he knows how to get out of being on his front if he needs to.

Haha my baby is the same! I try to gently show him how to roll back by tucking his arm in and rolling him halfway, he has done it a few times but himself but often gets stuck 😅

I’ve had about 2 weeks of my LO rolling from back to front and getting stuck. Only now is he managing to get back on his side and sometimes rolling back. I just kept putting his arms back underneath him as he would flap his legs and arms on his tummy. I’ve kind of just left him a bit to moan and then would help him although he would get annoyed if I helped rolled him back as I actually think he wanted to be on his tummy. 🤣 apparently if you help bend one knee it helps them to learn how to get back.

@Antonia I’m glad I’m not the only one! Just feel really sorry for him, guess just need to give him a bit more time. Just feel like if he’d done front to back first he’d probably be happier 😂

@Katy this is exactly what mine is doing, flapping his arms and legs without really getting anywhere! Will try and give him time to figure it out himself and if not try the bending one knee thing 🤞 thanks!

My boy rolled front to back for a good month before he finally did back to front .. he’s become so happy and exited with his back to front roll that he’s forgotten how to get onto his back again 🤣 he rolled in his cot and had to sleep face down (I didn’t hear any fuss on my camera app) and it scared me so much!! X

My baby does this too! He worked out how to do front to back a few weeks ago but now seems to have forgotten. He’s constantly rolling onto his front, getting stuck and frustrated, I roll him onto his back and he immediately rolls back to his front 🤦‍♀️ I have no tips, I think it will just take him time to get there!
