Is anyone else super stressed about what food is safe to eat?

Honestly, I Google everything I eat and I still worry. I got a Leon wrap, asked the staff if it was okay and they said yes, now I’m still panicking it had Korean mayo in it, and what if the milk was unpasteurised… and now my dinner is ruined! Also adding that Leon was an exception and I am trying to eat suuuper healthy otherwise!

In a nutshell, know what cheeses you can’t eat. Eggs in the UK are mainly safe in foods don’t worry about it xx

Honestly don’t worry. The chances of it being unpasteurised is low and even if it was a tiny bit of mayo won’t be detrimental.

Also the risk with unpasteurised is that you may get listeriosis. Which is SO RARE! I really would not get that worked up over it, stressing that much is more likely to have a negative impact on you than the foods. You have to try and relax or you’ll send yourself crazy!!

It’s so easy to worry but the risk really is so tiny! I actually still eat soft ripened cheese such as camembert because I really crave it, but I cook it first, that way it’s safe. That’s something that not everyone tells you. You can have really any of the “forbidden” foods if they are cooked through. And even if not, the risk is so small. I highly recommend the book “real foods for pregnancy” by Lily Nichols, it’s the best evidence based book out there and she explains this in detail in there.

I feel like they scare us too much about everything. You’ll be fine. I had a breakdown the other day because my cleanser contains salicylic acid and we should not use it. Same with retinol, not really something I knew 😅

@Marija low dose salicylic acid is fine, just not the strong stuff for acne or acid peels. Not retinol because of the vitamin a

@Rachel thanks! I read as long as it’s 2% or less is fine SA , I mean. Retinol should be avoided. Thankfully I was using it rarely and had super low dose but still it freaks me out I was not aware from day 1
