C section medication

Hi! Has anyone had a recent c section at Warwick Hospital? I had a previous emergency in 2022, and due another one on Monday. When I was discharged last time I was given paracetamol, ibuprofen and oramorph (liquid morphine) - is this still the case? A friend of mine had a c section at Coventry and was sent home only with paracetamol and ibuprofen and it got me worried as recovery was hard last time and that was with the morphine if I needed it! Thanks in advance

I had a c section at Warwick in November and I can’t take ibuprofen. They sent me home with just paracetamol lol. They don’t do liquid morphine anymore apparently, I did ask.

Hiya! I had a c section back in October, I was given paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine . I was on blood thinners too which I had to inject myself for 10 days xx

Probably best to contact bluebelle and ask for their protocol. I don’t think they’ll send you home with oramorph though x

I had an emergency section in September and was only given paracetamol and ibuprofen to leave with, and was allowed dihydrocodeine a few times before discharge. I did get moved to UHCW with my baby in NICU and it was the same there, but nothing stronger than paracetamol and ibuprofen xx

I had a c-section in December and they only gave me ibuprofen and paracetamol to take home. Maybe you could request the morphine ?

You can request it - I took it all home 😊

I had a csection there in November, and I asked for Dihydrocodiene to take home, which they were more than happy to prescribe for me. I was given paracetamol, ibuprofen, and the codeine whilst I was admitted, and I didn't feel like I needed anything else xx

Thank you all for your answers! Can't believe you can have major abdominal surgery, a small baby to look after and be sent off with paracetamol and ibuprofen.... I do think if men did this they would be sent with a lot more 🤔🤔🤔 Also I'm not sure the pain has changed that much in 3 years 🤣 🫠 and I deffo needed a little bit more, and this time will be with a toddler! 🙈🙈 But thanks for replying!
