Natural birth after a c-section

During my first pregnancy i had a planned c-section that went so good, from the beginning throughout the recovery, nothing to complain about. I am pregnant again, and from the first day i knew about it i already made up my mind about another c-section. Now i am 22 weeks pregnant and i am starting to really struggle to look after my toddler, which made me reconsider another c-section. How i am gonna do it if my movement are limited for the first month. During the first pregnancy i rested a lot, so i had no problems. But now? I can’t just ignore my responsibilities and stay in bed, my husband has only 2 weeks on paternity leave, so what to do after that? Is it safe to go natural this time? Will the recovery be faster and i would be able to look after both of my kids quicker? Is it even safe to go natural now? By the time i am due, it will be 3 years between pregnancies, so it sounds like it should be safe ?? Any advices would be appreciated Thank you and sorry for the long post 🙏🏻

There is tons of research of vaginally.birth after c section. Please look into it and ask questions, it is possible!

Look into VBAC and talk to your provider. I had a very successful VBAC but I wouldn’t say the recovery was better than my C-section. My midwife still told me not to carry my toddler around picking him up for a hug was fine but to move him around too much was not.

Mine is opposite I had a traumatic emergency c section that was super super painful for almost a year and now I'm 19 weeks again with my toddler same as you yes. Please remember tho the risk of uterine rupture with vbac ....n consider size of baby like for ex my daughter was 8lbs if my son is bigger I can't vbac bc that's too big puts old c section at risk. Yes recovery post c section w a toddler will be super hard I'm scared too. I'm hoping my toddler will actually understand and lend mommy a hand with bending down and certain things ya know

Consider getting some extra help for those two weeks after your husband goes back to work. Yes, you have an older child, but you also have a responsibility to rest and heal completely. If you don't, you can have long-term injuries that limit your ability to care for your family going forward. Take it seriously!

I had an emergency section and am planning a vaginal birth this time round. There’s loads of research that states that VBACs are very successful but it’s all dependent on how your c section went in the first place. Good luck 🙏🏾
