Oh no, I'm sorry. It must be very worrying. Are you under treatment now? I hope you feel better soon xx
My son was also born on the 17th jan I've had the worse head pain since 😫
I’m sorry to hear that you are going through this, I hope it gets resolved and you’re feeling well soon especially with just having a newborn🥺
@Alex It was about a week after birth where I had a banging migraine where I had to literally wrap a towel around my head to put pressure on it. It wouldn't go away and was constant, My blood pressure was fine at the time but a couple of days after it started to go low trying to figure out why still, Probably something with the medication given to me x
Did they think it was pp preeclampsia at first? I’m going to call triage tomorrow and just ask as it’s almost 4 weeks pp where they’ll sign me off x
@Audrey I was on high dose of blood thinners for the first 10 days and now they have switched the injections to tablet form but apparently the injections disolve the blood clot and the tablets only stop it from spreading so not really sure what the doctors are playing at 🤣🤣 I don't want the blood clot to continue living in my head rent free, I want it GONE 🥲😭
@Kristina I'm so sorry, I really hope the clot dissolves. I'm not sure how it's supposed to be treated but please keep us updated. xx
@Kristina hey, came across your post and wanted to offer some help. I’m a nurse specialist in thrombosis and anticoagulation (currently on mat leave myself). The blood thinners you were put on are a subcutaneous injection of low molecular weight heparin, every trust uses a different brand but it was likely something like Tinzaparin, Enoxaparin, dalteparin? They don’t actually dissolve the blood clot! Common misconception. They are the exact same effectiveness as the tablets you have now been put on they just work in a slightly different way, I am assuming you are now on either a DOAC like Apixaban, or a VKA like Warfarin? The only thing that dissolves clots is thrombolysis (alteplase) which is a highly controlled medication given intravenously in hospital. I’m more than happy to chat if you want or answer any questions that you may have. Also a good website to look at for more information would be Thrombosis UK. It’s quite scary being diagnosed with a blood clot, hope you’re okay.
@Alex They haven't even mentioned preclampsia but now i'm having more symptons so might have to mention that, Fingers crossed I don't have another thing added to my list. 🤣🥲
What were your symptoms? How far after birth did they come on? Was it constant? I’ve been having bad headaches and not sure if my blood pressure is slightly high too x
