Is my child ok?

My boy is 14 months. He’s got a temp of 39.5, coming down slowly with ibuprofen. He’s breathing faster and got like a whitey rash on stomach (no where else on body). Anyone else experienced this with their little ones? What is it? He’s also teething bad

This is his breathing. He’s a bit blocked up as his nose won’t stop running. He’s twitching in his sleep now and again too

Is he using extra muscles to breathe?

Why you don’t go to hospital?

@Ellie yeah I’d say so

@Sally we’ve taken him before about his breathing and they didn’t see interested really. But his temp is still high it’s 38.7 now

Search some home remedies to calm down the fever. My mom used towel make it wet with water then put on his head or his neck

If you can see his ribs while breathing or his throat is sucking in, take him to the ER

You have to take him emergency

Calpol is better for bringing down a temperature than ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory, so it is better for pain.

You need to take his clothes off to see his ribs for intercostal retractions and bottom of his neck to check for a tracheal tug, which means he’s having hard worker breathing. Also look for nostrils flaring when breathing and shoulders rising and falling when breathing too. Any concerns, do not question taking him to a&e - just because they weren’t concerned last time doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be every time

@Rachel calpol never works for us to bring it down only ibuprofen x

@Jazmin he’s such a chesty child. They think he’s got asthma but obviously can’t test yet. When he’s got a cold/virus, he tends to suck them in and I’ve gone numerous of times with it as it’s called as serious but they ain’t worried so send us home. So I don’t worry too much about it anymore.

Is should are moving up and down when breathing tho x
