Unable to put baby down!

Does anyone else have a baby that will only contact nap during the day? My 11 week old will only sleep on someone if we’re at home - luckily she’s happy to sleep in the pushchair or car seat if we’re out but at home wakes the second you put her down 🫠 even if she’s in a deep, deep sleep! I see all these posts on social media of people putting babies down for naps, self-settling, bedtimes at 6/7PM but we have none of that yet! Again, luckily she’s happy will go down in her cot for the night when we do her last feed around 10PM. I know it’s all a phase and she’ll sleep independently eventually and I’ll miss this (she’s my last baby!), but it’s also so consuming when you have to hold her all day and have other jobs to get done, especially with a toddler in tow.

I am with you on this! It’s like they instantly know they are in a Moses basket 😂 I just keep telling myself to make the most of it as they don’t come near you when they are a teenager 😂 x

My little one is like this I've gotten to the point that I put him in his moses basket during the day or his next to me at night and put his sound machine on. If he wakes up he wakes up but I will only pick him up of he genuinely needs something and if he's that tired he will fall asleep at some point and then I walk away (not far at most I will go into the next room for very brief periods) . Had two nights in a row now where hes actually gone to sleep within half an hour of being put down and I've had some glorious arm free time.....mostly to do laundry but I'm counting it

Yes my baby is the same! Sometimes she will sleep if a swaddle her in the Moses basket in the day but still only a cat nap but might be enough for me to have some food/a drink!

Our 10 week old is the exactly the same, she's also like that during the night. You're in bad luck if you need a wee and she just started drifting off to sleep 😭

Our 10 week old is exactly the same. This week I’ve started breastfeeding him laying down on the bed (both of us laying on our side, stomach to stomach) so that when he drops off I only have to gentle roll him onto him back and not actually pick him up and put him down, so he stays asleep. I appreciate this requires breastfeeding and is not the most sustainable option, but it means currently I get an hour or two in the middle of the day to get things down without him on me x

My 9 week old is exactly the same, we have to use sling or carrier to get anything done during the day 😬

My 6 and a half month old STILL will only day time nap on me .. he needs a dummy, his muslin and to be on his side in my arms lol .. if we are out he can drop off in his pram .. and he goes to sleep in his cot very well at night and does 10 hours x

My LO is 12 weeks tomorrow and we contact nap and cosleep as he won’t sleep any other way. He won’t sleep in the car or the pushchair either so the only way to get him to sleep is to hold him. He’s been like it since birth so I’m hoping soon he actually does sleep without being held. Wishing you all the best x
