@Paula I had a 2nd degree tear as well. It’s not painful but it does feel very sensitive to the touch and bleeds a tiny bit here and there. Sex is painful though! I’m going to try your suggestions!! Thank you.
I had an episiotomy with my first, and it was months, unfortunately. Sex hurt for years after, certain positions were a no go. Eventually it just got better but it took a very very long time. I had only a graze with my second and felt back to normal immediately. Urinating didn't even sting.
@Ash ugh this sucks to hear. Sorry you went through this!
How much did you tear? I had 2nd degree both times. With my first, in 6 weeks pp it was healed. With my second, it took almost 12 weeks pp to stop feeling any pain. 😖 I was convinced I had an infection, I even went to see a nurse and they told me it’s fine. It’s terrible I know!!! Here is what I recommend: Definitely Tylenol, Earth mama’s perineal spray worked wonders. You could also apply a topical 5% lidocaine to numb the pain if it still very painful. Do a cure of vitamin C, 1000mg, this reinforces your blood vessels and help skin regeneration. Try to eat a lot of anti oxidant foods. And food rich in vitamin E. But definitely takes time. If by 12 weeks you’re still feeling pain, I’d say to go get it checked out. Make sure you’re still using your peribottle and make sure the area is well dry &, clean after shower/peeing
