Miserable baby

Does anyone else have a baby that is miserable most of the time? She's 4 months old.... When awake (which is most of the time because she hardly sleeps) she just screams. I try entertaining her but she loses interest very quick and I am getting fed up of going to classes and groups and she is constantly crying. Also struggling to get her to eat, she will take 3oz and then starts spitting it out and turning head away. At this point I am starting to hate being a mum and just praying it gets better.

My son was the same he turnt 5 months today I started weaning him Friday and he’s been a totally different baby he’s happy laughing sleeping better and it’s only been 2 days he’s now drinking more than 2/3oz honestly wish I had done a few weeks sooner

Might have gastro problems? Have you spoken to your GP or HV about it?

Definitely sounds like she's uncomfortable. I hope weaning helps you both. It's really difficult and you're doing an amazing job xx

Looking at the comments, I'm interested why people are advising weaning? Why would it help? I thought as long as possible on the breast was fine @Lauren @Rosie genuinely curious

@Julia my son is 20lbs but he’s not interested in milk he became so fussy won’t drink he’s formula fed would never drink more than 3oz woke up 5/6 times a night has done for the past 3 months I spoke to my doctor about it he said is there a reason your waiting until 6 months to wean I said is that not when we’re suppose to wait he said no nhs guidelines advise when baby is ready between 4-6 months all factors considered I decided he was ready and it’s been life changing for us both

My son was exactly how this mum is describing I hated taking him out he just wasn’t happy I just assumed it was a phase then it got to 4 months and it got worse so I thought 4 month regression or a phase he was going through again but how long can a phase last 3 months ? He’s so much happier now I know every baby is different and ready at different times so it’s up to us as mums to decided when our baby’s are ready x

Is she constipated at all? My LG cries a lot when she's trying to poo and let a fart out so could be that..

@Julia maybe if there's an underlying milk intolerance or silent reflux? My son has silent reflux and it definitely affects his mood. I'd probably go to a doctor first before weaning early though personally but everyone is different
