@Jen okay I’m glad it’s normal, thanks so much for your reply xxx
I’m only 4 weeks pp and also had episiotomy. Can I ask which part was painful? Like entering or the actual sex? Sorry if that too intimate questions. I’m a little worried myself x
@rosie it’s the entering for me, I feel like he can’t go fully in because it’s so painful, so the entering is the worst for me xx
@rosie and because I’m nearly 5 months pp it worries me that it shouldn’t be like that xxx
Thanks for the honesty and reply, I can still feel what feels like stitches or healing marks down there. I wonder if it’ll ever fully be flexible against 😬
@rosie I’ve read a lot and it says how the recovery is so different for everyone! I’ve read about how massaging the scar can be beneficial to kind of loosen it a bit and make it more flexible and stretch it kind of so going to give that a go and see how I get on,, so don’t worry about it you may be totally different! Xxx
My PT had me following this massage for the scar tissue along with exercises. https://youtu.be/limAN8CyPcA?feature=shared
I find when using a condom it rubs the scar area for me, I’m 3 months pp. also my partner went too deep and caused what felt like a contraction.. agonising pain for about an hour no idea why??
Honestly, it takes up to a year for the tissue and vagina to fully heal/return to normal. I found sex painful at 4 month pp and much better from around 9m. Your partner might need to be patient whilst you continue healing.
@F X thank you! Xx
@Emily yes I find the same when he goes too deep i can get cramping xx
@Becks thank you, I’m glad I’m not the only one and it’s a normal thing xxx
Very common. There is a ton of scar tissue from the episiotomy. I've had two and went to a pelvic floor therapist to help with getting the scar tissue worked out. It helped tremendously and lots of lube while doing the act.
