See the GP for an assessment and ask them to refer you to MSK physiotherapy if possible. Some NHS Trusts offer a self -referral service to physiotherapy so you'll have to check that. There are several body changes that take place post partum and your body demands are obviously higher because of taking care of your baby. The best way to treat this is graded movement and strengthening exercise (I am a Physiotherapist myself so see people with back pain every day).
@Alekhya Tirumala do you have any recommendations for which exercises? Or a YouTube video we could follow. I'm the same with the back pain but my abdominal area hurts too still.
I would recommend having the symptoms assessed first before having any exercises prescribed. Because post partum not everyone has the same exercise capacity.
@Alekhya Tirumala I saw the GP about this and they referred me to someone in house who printed off a few exercises for me but no guidance other than that. There was no follow up either.
Maybe try doing the exercises regularly for a few weeks and get back to the GP if nothing improves?
I will try, thanks xx
I had the same apart from the forceps. Have you tried stretching and yoga (lots of YouTube tutorials) this normally takes the edge off for me and a hot water bottle helps. If not definitely get an appointment with your GP x
