PPD

I've been having a hard time the past month or so and I can't figure out why. I am prone to depression and I have been on antidepressants for many years. Postpartum hit me hard, but I worked through it and things felt better. The last month I have cried every single day I was fine prior to this now my thoughts are running rampant And my OCD has increased. I am currently on 100 mg Zoloft and I'm too scared to go up because I'm still nursing but I'm not sure why all of a sudden I am feeling very depressed.

Putting it out there.. this is not judgemental, this is my experience. PPD/A/R can be caused and/or exasperated buy a calcium deficiency caused by breastfeeding.. also; there generally is enough calcium in your prenatal supplements HOWEVER, if your electrolytes are out of balance or if you're also taking an Iron supplement that calcium may not be able to be absorbed properly. So, if you take your iron like 6 hours away from your prenatals, and add an electrolyte supplement (I prefer LMNT) you may see a balancing occur within a day or two of making those changes. Here's the thing though... I personally can't take prescription drugs, so I can't speak to if this is safe while on Zoloft or if either will interfere with effectivity.. also, 95% of medical Dr.s will dismiss this all together but being someone who can't take Rx, and seeing a night and day difference within days, it worked for me. Take this all as you will, I hope you find relief whatever your route. đź«‚

Exercise is the most commonly forgotten natural antidepressant. Being on antidepressants for years, when do you expect them to work and you could get off them? Id go to a naturopath and get bloods drawn. Sounds like your deficient in something. Good luck mama
