PPD

how late can ppd technically start? during the newborn trenches i definitely struggled with postpartum rage but never really felt depressed, the last about month or so though ive felt more depression. im setting up therapy and everything but to me it seems odd that it hit when my baby was 6 months old. i have diagnosed mdd but this just feels different in a way. its a lot stronger then before. ive been trying to find a good postpartum therapist in springfield but havent had any luck so far

I think whatever you’re feeling is totally normal ❤️ everything I read about PPD, it doesn’t seem to have a lot of rhyme or reason! Try looking at Headway - they can see what therapists take your insurance, and you can look at those who specialize in maternal mental health. And can do virtual sessions!

@Mollie thank you 🫶🏻

I had mild PPD and PPA which eased on its own, but started returning at 6 months and is a lot more intense too. I found that some women can develop it even a year or two after birth so you’re not alone. Good luck 🤗

Any time. Processing birth and navigating the new person you are can be awaking and hard. You may mourn your old life and it can contribute. Advice is to journal to questions you can find on Pinterest about these specific topics

I was diagnosed almost 2 years after my first baby

@Alli i havent been diagnosed due to it just starting but i feel like im showing signs and symptoms of it. i have an appointment with my doctor set and im working on a therapist right now. it just seemed odd to have it pop up so late.
