Yes my oldest was on it for about 3m
It was from a family member
I wish I had a family member who I could borrow from. I just worry about an infectious disease or some medications slipping through the cracks at the clinic. But maybe it’s worth the risk if it’s between that and formula? What do you think?
I haven’t but milk banks are very strict you even disqualify from donating if you’ve had a blood transfusion but I’ve initiated peer to peer donations also
I donated a few thousand ounces on fb local buy nothing group! Lots of moms also did. But I understand why that could be risky for the receiving family.
Thank you all for the feedback. I’m going to tour the facility and speak to the manager tomorrow. Hopefully that helps me feel more at ease.
Hi everyone thank you! I spoke to the people at the milk bank and it seems like they have taken all of the steps to mitigate most of the risks. But there’s always risk, as with anything. I’m still not 100% sure and I’m starting to lean toward just using formula. I think I’ve been overthinking a lot of these decisions and my PPA is on overdrive
From what I understand places thoroughly test those who want to be donors before even accepting them. I’d also be nervous tho
