Finding it hard to get out with baby

I've just been out with baby and older sibling for a couple of hours and it's so stressful. Baby just never seems to be happy when we are out - doesn't want to lay down and then when I'm holding her she's constantly wriggling around. She hates the car, so it only works when it's naptime and then she will sleep in the car, which is good at least. But I'm feeling so trapped. How is everyone else finding getting out and about?

I think at this age now most of them are little wrigglers! Mine definitely is 🥰 I prefer being out, I find my 3 year old much more manageable. Have you got a harness for baby? Might be helpful. Also my first hated the cary cot part of the pram, at 12 weeks she was strong enough so I moved her into the sitting up one and she much preferred it which made getting out so much easier

Also what type of car seat? Is the it the travel system type? Or one that can be from birth until they’re older?

Honestly i felt exactly the same and had all the same struggles. An over active 2.5yo and NB baby I hated going out on my own anywhere. Now babies 13 weeks and I love it going out for a few hours AM or PM around toddlers nap and baby is so much more settled now in the bassenet and the car ❤️

It will get easier. Baby carrier life saver in the early days. Like baby bjorn. Even wore it in the house for cooking. When my son was born, I had just turned 3 daughter. But definitely overwhelming. You definitely will get in a routine. Just start with small outings. 🙂
