Breastfeeding on demand

Baby is now 10 months old. Around 6 months we settled into a schedule of times when I would offer the breast and this has been working well for us. Over the last week or so my LO has learned she can ‘ask’ for milk. And is now asking all the time, mainly I think because she can- which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, I’m really excited she can communicate! But do I keep offering at regular times or just feed her whenever she asks? She’s doing really well with solids so no worries on that front. Thanks!

Awww that’s so cute! I would just feed her whenever she wants if you’re happy with that milk is their main form of nutrition to 1 so it won’t harm giving extra feeds

I would feed on demand! I am back at work 4 days a week and my 15 month old is absolutely fine doing the day without me, but on my days off with him and when he’s with me we still do feed on demand and it doesn’t impact him when he’s away from me or his meals x

At 10 months you don't have to feed on demand unless you are happy to do it of course

Thanks everyone. I BF every time she asked today and I lost count at the amount of times- must have been over 10 🤦‍♀️ but hoping it gets better as the novelty of asking wears off! X
