Would it help?

So we have a stomach bug making its way through the house atm and I’ve recently got over it but my 2 year old seems to have it the worst.. would giving her some of my breastmilk help her fight the bug? She’s been unwell constantly for the last few months so she’s struggling.. sorry if this is strange to ask

You've already had it and therefore have antibodies for the illness, which would be transferred through your breastmilk. Certainly don't think it's a strange thing to ask or consider!

That’s what I was thinking but my partner seems to think it’s weird but I just want her to get better and if I can help then I want to x

That's a shame he can't see the benefits 😔

Why would it be weird? 😔 It’s recommended to breastfeed until the age of 2 but plenty go past this. Your milk is full of antibodies that will help fight any bugs so it will definitely help. I don’t think your partner knows what he is on about unfortunately and us mums know best. You could give her in a cup as milk or mix into porridge ect. Hope you’re all better soon xx

Not strange at all. Completely normal for 2 year olds to breastfeed!

Breastmilk is likely the one thing that would help her. Definitely give her the breastmilk. Plenty of research for your partner to read up on out there. Xx

I think he finds it weird because I never breastfed her and only her brother who is 5 months old xx
