Baby monitor

Has anyone whose baby sleeps in their own room stopped using/doesn’t use a monitor? I use one as I’m always worried about not hearing him cry, but I’m such a light sleeper and I’m constantly waking up to any sound he makes. My husband thinks we’ll hear him if he needs us. I sleep with a fan on in the room too, so worry that’ll add to drowning him out! Any thoughts?!

We still use one for our 3yo 😅 but that’s just to keep an eye on him while I get his little sister to sleep etc, but it’s handy in the morning to see if he’s still asleep/awake in bed. As for baby girl we would probably hear her from her room but I like being able to see her to determine if she’s just whining but still asleep/lying down or if she’s sat up/awake and upset

I still use the monitor but i have the sound turned completely down, i hear him fine from down the hall! i was waking up at every sound too, id be quite a light sleeper aswell! X

I use it but often turn the sound off, I’m also a very light sleeper and our rooms are adjacent so I hear fine!

I use the monitor downstairs but as we’re next door I’ve never had it on overnight. If I need to check on her (other than physically going in) we have the app on our phones

I have mine on with the sound off so if I hear him and can look at the screen and see if he’s ok

I still use mine all the time, but occasionally I now turn the sound right down if I'm confident I'll hear her

Mine stays on with the sound off as she’s just in the next room, if we’re downstairs I put the sound on as it’s quite loud with the telly on

I don’t use a monitor at all. If he cries in the night I seem to wake up on the dot! Any in the evening we keep the tv on low so tend to hear him. I always stick my head into his room when I pop upstairs. I’m going to look at getting the video monitor soon though as in the summer we tend to eat late and sit in the kitchen more or on the patio just by the back door. I would never sit so far away uncles I can see/ hear him on my phone.
