Childminders are so much more reasonable. We pay just under £400 a month for 3 full days with 15 hours funded. The nursery wanted £470 a month for 2 days! They charge £22 a day consumable fee for activities/food whereas the childminder charges £0, but we provide lunch - she does breakfast, snacks, nappies, wipes etc. She takes them on days out and he has the time of his life. Highly recommend if you can find a good one :)
@sammy how do you find a child minder? I feel like childcare is such a minefield, i don't want to end up going back to work just to pay childcare.
Someone posted a link to her in a local FB group. If you’re in one, just search childminder and I’m sure there will be recommendations It’s such a tough balance and for some people, it’s not worth it at all. Definitely good to consider your options now Also, some nurseries are so oversubscribed that youll need to sign up for one when you’re pregnant
We pay £500 a month including the 15 hours funded, for two days 8am-6pm
